Happy New Year! NGSC is sponsoring a FREE bus trip to Times Square, New York City on Saturday, January 16, 2016. Spend the day in NYC sight-seeing, exploring a FREE museum or shopping with your friends! What a great way to kick off the spring 2016 semester.
Due to limited seating, this bus trip is open ONLY to NEAG graduate students. No exceptions!

Spring 2015 Travel Awards

The Neag Graduate Student Association (NGSA) is pleased to announce the first round of scholarship awards for the 2014-2015 academic year. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for Neag graduate students who wish to attend conferences that will benefit their scholarly and professional involvements. In the past, awards have typically ranged from $100-$400. Please note that these travel stipends will typically not cover all conference expenses. Therefore, other potential funding sources should also be pursued. Please read all instructions carefully, as the process changes from time to time. See the Travel Award page for more information.

NGSA will host a grad student get together featuring donuts and delicious flavored coffees. Stop by and take a break with faculty, students, and your NGSA Board for good company and conversation!

NGSA Holiday Coffee Break

On December 5, 2013, NGSA  hosted a grad student get together featuring donuts, coffee, and door prizes. Faculty and students came together to share stories and warm up from the cold trek across campus!

NGSA Spooktacular Coffee Break

On October 31st, 2013, NGSA hosted a grad student get together featuring donuts, coffee, and a costume contest. The best costume was eligible to receive a grand prize and a photo with the NGSA officer board!

NGSA Student-Faculty Meet & Greet

From 12:00-2:00 on September 30th, Neag School of Education professors and students took some time to share their academic/research goals, ambitions, and ideas for the coming year. The event took place in Gentry Rm. 144, and a free pizza lunch was served!

August 2013

NGSA Graduate Student Orientation

From 9:00AM-4:00PM on August 21st, new Neag School of Education graduate students were provided with an orientation for the coming school year–this included a variety of presentations by current faculty and campus resource centers. The event took place in Gentry Rm. 144, and refreshments (including a free lunch) were served.

March 2013

NGSA Faculty Teaching Panel

From 2:00-3:30 on March 27th, five Neag School of Education professors will field questions about their teaching experiences at the University of Connecticut. The event will take place in Gentry Rm. 144, and refreshments (including donuts and coffee) will be available!

February 2013

NGSA Faculty Funding Panel Discussion

On February 28th, 2013, NGSA offered Neag students a chance to discuss funding opportunities within the School of Education via discussion with a panel of three department professors. Topics included scholarships, grants, assistantships, and more.

NGSA Winter Research Mixer

On February 1st, 2013, NGSA sponsored a student-professor research mixer as a way to network over pizza. The discussion included members of virtually all Neag branches from Cognition, Instruction, and Learning Technologies to Kinesiology.
