The “Adopt-a-Grad Program” is a collaboration between the Neag Graduate Student Association and the Neag Alumni Association. Focus Group Discussion on Diversity - March 2007
Neag graduate students participated in a focus group discussion on diversity in the Neag School of Education. The goals of the focus group were to:
1) Inform graduate students about the draft of the work plan on diversity;
2) Collect ideas from graduate students on missing issues and concerns, and possible strategies;
3) Set priorities

Nutrition and exercise for the stressed graduate students - February 2007
- Even Johnson, MS student in Kinesiology, talked about quick and effective workouts for the time-constrained graduate student.
- Erin Quann and Brittany Volk, PhD(c) and MS students in Nutrition and Kinesiology talked about easy, inexpensive and healthy nutrition plans that every graduate student can follow. See presentation (.ppt)
- Dr Fran Storch, a Naturapathic Physician talked about alternative therapies for dealing with stress, nutrition supplements, and wellness techniques.

| Professors Siegle and McCoach discussed the basics of using APA style and conducting a Literature Review. It was a very informative meeting for all beginning and advanced graduate students. |

| Hurricane Relief Effort - Helping a School through the Storm: Fall 2005 |

The Neag Graduate Student Association, in cooperation with the Dean, faculty and staff provided needed supplies to a school in Louisiana that had welcomed many students who were evacuated from the area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Park Ridge Elementary School in Baker, Louisiana, used our donations to help new students at the school and their families. The school also shared surplus supplies with other schools in the district also adopting evacuees. Park Ridge serves grades 4 and 5. (school website: http://www.bakerschools.org/parkridge.cfm) |
